LSU Baseball: Tigers slide in national polls after rough weekend

After a frustrating weekend at Minute Maid Park in Houston where the Tigers went 1-2 on the weekend, LSU has slid down the national baseball polls a bit.

The biggest slip was an eight-spot slide to the No. 16 spot in Baseball America’s top 25. After an incredible walk-off victory against the Oklahoma Sooners on Friday night, everything went south for the Tigers (except for the error numbers that continued to rise).

We’re still early on in the season, so there is still time to work out some of the defensive issues before LSU gets into conference play. With seven teams in the top 25, the Tigers have got to prepare to run the gauntlet that is the SEC conference schedule which starts next Friday against the Texas A&M Aggies.

LSU will look to improve its overall record to 10-3 tomorrow night against the McNeese State Cowboys. In the meantime, here’s where it stands in all the latest national polls.
