Ace Steel Fined For Dropping An F-Bomb On AEW Dynamite

The money from the fine will go to charity.

Seven days after failing to become the Undisputed AEW Champion, a dejected CM Punk took to the ring on Dynamite this week. Punk didn't stay dejected for long as his trainer Ace Steel marched to the ring and slapped some sense into him, literally. That prompted Punk to buck up and sign the All Out contract Steel had grabbed for him earlier in the show.

There was one slight problem with what was an otherwise pretty terrific segment to hype Sunday's main event. As a clearly pumped Steel attempted to transfer some of that energy to Punk, he dropped an f-bomb. Steel told Punk that whenever you're down “you fucking get up”, and it wasn't the sort of slip-up where you were left wondering “what did he just say?” while watching at home.

No, there was no mistaking what Steel said, and the AEW trainer has paid the price for it. Quite literally, in fact, according to PW Insider. Apparently, Steel took full responsibility for the slip-up as soon as he stepped back through the curtain and graciously accepted his punishment. A fine of an unspecified amount, all of which will go directly to charity.

Saying the f-word on a live show is never good, but Steel couldn't have picked a worse moment to do it. While speaking to the man who will challenge for the World Title in All Out's main event four days before the PPV. One of the biggest episodes of Dynamite of the year, and just to make matters worse, the on-air swear comes right after Warner Media asked AEW to tone down the language.

It was clearly accidental so hopefully, AEW won't be in any trouble from the big bosses for it. It was hardly D-Generation X reading a mandate from network bosses aloud on Raw warning WWE about foul language, lacing it with every swear word under the sun. It does seem likely there will be fewer curse words and probably less blood and violence on AEW TV moving forward, though.
